Sub:  Proposal to Postal Directorate for conversion of vacancies meant for promotion of Sorter to LDC to  promotion of MTS to LDC.

Sir,

At present only 10 LDCs are on the rolls against the sanction of 43 (after abolition of DR quota vacancies). All the 33 vacancies relates to promotion quota, out of which 28 relate to promotion from Sorter. These 28 vacancies are never to be filled up as no Sorter is available in this Office nor any one is going to be appointed due to moratorium for filling up Sorter post. Ultimately we are going to lose all these posts if these are kept unfilled for a long period under the provision of deemed abolition. Feeling the gravity of the situation, this Association has taken up the issue in the Bi-monthly meeting held on 30.09.2015. From the minutes, it appears that the matter has been given due importance by the Administration as we were intimated that the case is under process.

         

Meanwhile, as a period of more than one month has already been elapsed, the Administration might have reached to a logical conclusion in the best interest of this Office in sending a proposal to the Postal Directorate for conversion of vacancies meant for promotion of Sorter to LDC to promotion of MTS to LDC.

 The action taken in this regard may kindly be intimated.
